The Graduate Group in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (GGEB) is responsible for developing and administering the PhD degree programs in epidemiology and biostatistics as well as the MS program in biostatistics. Overview Bachelor's degree with GPA of 3.2 or higher required for MS applicants Students who join the MS Biostatistics program and pass the Biostatistics Qualifying Exam after their first year of coursework may apply directly to the PhD program without completing the MS degree. If admitted to the PhD program, all of the coursework taken in the first year would then count towards the PhD degree.

On July 1, 2019, the Department of Epidemiology welcomed Andrew Beam, PhD as assistant professor, with secondary appointments in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and the Department of Newborn Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I see most programs, especially at some of the larger schools of public health, have separate epidemiology or biostatistics departments and hence graduate programs. I’m wondering if there are programs that are somewhat of a hybrid between the two or allow such a combination? I see the university of Georgia and Kentucky have something of this sort.
